People keep asking the same questions about dinosaurs. That’s why we’ll answer some of them for you!
The dinosaurs lived on Earth for over 165 million years before going extinct around 65 million years ago.
There is still much debate about what caused the extinction of the dinosaurs, but scientists believe it was likely due to a combination of factors, including climate change and perhaps even an asteroid impact.
Some theories suggest that the extinction may have been caused by other factors as well, such as volcanic eruptions or changing sea levels. Maybe all of this was caused by said asteroid impact. However, what is clear is that the extinction of the dinosaurs was a pivotal moment in Earth’s history and one that has fascinated scientists for many years.
The infamous asteroid that is said to have caused the extinction of the dinosaurs is believed to have struck Earth at a site now known as Chicxulub. Located in Mexico, this impact crater is truly massive – measuring over 100 miles wide!
Despite its huge size, the exact location of Chicxulub was actually unknown until scientists discovered it using seismic data and other geological research methods. Since then, many studies have been undertaken at this site to learn more about the asteroid impact and its effects on dinosaurs.
At the time of its discovery in 1903, the brachiosaurus was considered to be the largest dinosaur ever, yes! But since then, many new dinosaurs have been discovered that are actually way bigger and heavier!

Although there were undoubtedly many other large dinosaurs like Dreadnoughtus, we may never know for certain which one was truly the biggest. Other candidates are:
