How to Play The Rick and Morty Drinking Game
The premise of this drinking game is simple: take a sip, drink a shot, or chug your drink whenever certain events or phrases happen on screen. Here’s what you’ll need to get started:
- Your favorite drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)
- A copy of the show (DVDs, streaming services, etc.)
- A group of friends who are ready to get schwifty
Here’s how to play:
1. Decide on your drink for the night.
It can be a specific type of alcohol (ex, beer, wine, vodka) or a mixed drink (ex, margaritas, rum, and coke).
2. Gather your friends and choose an episode to watch.
You can select one, two, or even a whole season to marathon.
3. Assign each player a main character from the show.
This can be Rick, Morty, Summer, Jerry, Beth, or any other recurring character you agree on.
4. Get to drinking!
Whenever any of these events or phrases happen on screen, the designated player must take a sip, drink a shot, or chug their drink:
Drink one sip…
- Any time someone goes through a portal
- WUBBALUBBADUBDUB!
- Any time Jerry does/says anything dumb
- Any time there’s a reference to Morty being “slow”
- Any time Rick whips out a zaneay invention
- Any time Beth drinks wine
- Any time they talk about Beth being a horse surgeon
- Any time they say the name of the episode
Drink two sips…
- Any time Rick drinks
- Any time a fight scene begins
- Any time a penis is drawn into the scene
- Any time Summer gets annoyed
- Any time Morty wants to bail
Take three sips…
- Any time Rick burps
- Any time Rick or Morty stutter
- Any time anyone says “bitch.”
- Any time a named character dies
- Any time they mention a dimension
Take a hit (shot!), when:
- Any time you totally forget what’s going on
- Any time you pause the show
- Any time you giggle before the joke even starts
- Any time you recognize a random alien species
- Any time you unintentionally quote the show
- Any time they smoke anything
- Any time they break the 4th wall
Rick and Morty Drinking Game Rules
While we encourage you to have fun and get schwifty, please drink responsibly. And if you start feeling sick or too drunk, take a break and hydrate yourself. Safety first!
1. Designated driver: If anyone in the group is driving home, they can still play, but they should have non-alcoholic drinks instead.
2. No cheating: No skipping sips or shots! The whole point of this drinking game is to have fun together.
3. Take it easy: You don’t have to finish your drink whenever someone mentions Beth being a horse surgeon (or any other event requiring more than one sip). Take smaller sips if you need to pace yourself.
And if you’re not feeling well, it’s okay to take a break or stop playing altogether.
4. Mix things up: If you and your friends watch multiple episodes, feel free to change the rules as the night progresses. You can add new phrases or events or switch characters halfway through.
5. Have fun! This is just a game, so enjoy yourselves and don’t take it too seriously. Remember to laugh (and drink) responsibly!
And there you have it - your guide to the ultimate Rick and Morty Drinking Game! Whether you’re a die-hard show fan or just looking for a fun way to spice up your watch parties, this drinking game will surely deliver laughs and good times.
