This drinking game is all about shooting ping pong balls into cups. Depending on which cup the ping pong ball lands in, you either have to drink or not. Easy right? Well, there’s more to it than that. Let’s take a look at the rules of Chandelier and how to play:

What do you need for Chandelier?

First things first, you need to gather a few supplies. For the game, you will need:

• Plastic cups (at least one for each player and two additional ones)
• Ping Pong balls (one for each player)
• Lots of beer
• 4 or more players
• A table

How to set up Chandelier Drinking Game?

Every player gets one plastic cup and a ping pong ball. If you’re a big group, you can also share balls. Then set up the cups.

Place the “death cup” (just a regular plastic cup) in the middle of the table and fill it up to the top with beer. Put the death cup on top of a turned-over plastic cup, so it is higher in the air than the rest of the cups.

Fill your personal cups halfway with beer and place them around the death cup. It’s important to remember which cup is yours, so if you want to play it safe, let all player write their name on their cups with a permanent marker.

Chandelier Drinking Game Rules & Gameplay

Once you set everything up, it’s time to start playing! Follow these steps to play Chandelier:

1. Shoot the Ping Pong Ball into a cup.

Try to shoot the ping pong ball into one of the enemys’ cups. You must bounce the ball off the center cup (the death cup) before it goes into the other player’s cup. So the ball has to touch the table first, then the death cup, and finally land in the other player’s cup.

2. If you make it into a cup, the player must drink and is out.

If you make the shot, the person to whom the cup belongs has to drink their drink and remove their cup from the table (so the person is out of the game). After they finish their drink, they have three chances to flip their cup. If they can’t manage to flip their cup successfully (the cup doesn’t land upside down on the table), they have to drink up the death cup. After that, the death cup gets refilled, and the game continues.

3. If you don’t make it into a cup, nothing happens.

If you don’t make the shot, it’s the next player’s turn.

4. If your ball landed in the death cup, everybody (except you) must drink.

If your ball somehow ends up in the death cup, everyone playing (except you) has to drink up their cup and then flip it up again. The last person who’s managed to drink up and flip their cup successfully is out.

5. The game is over when only one player is left with a cup.

The game is over when there’s only one person left who still has a cup on the table in front of them. That person is the winner!
