Also known as Donut, Jug Oval of Fire or Ring of Fire, Kings Cup is a classic game where players need to drink based on the cards they draw from the deck. Each card has an assigned rule which all players must follow.

How to Play Kings Cup

To play Kings Cup, you and your partner will need a standard deck of cards. You will also need drinks (preferably alcoholic) and a large cup which will be used as the Kings Cup.

Place the Kings Cup in the middle of the table, and surround it with the cards face down. Players will take turns revealing the turned-over cards on the table. Each card has a corresponding action that players must perform.

It is a card drinking game where players nominate each other to drink based on taking turns to flip cards on the table which are laid out as a pyramid formation.

Get ready because you and your partner will be doing a lot of drinking during the game! Every time you get your partner to drink, you’re getting them “fucked”!

How to Play Fuck You Pyramid

To play Fuck You Pyramid, all you need is a deck of cards and lots of alcohol. Make sure to shuffle the deck of cards well! Place the cards face down on the table forming a shape of a pyramid. There should be four layers on the pyramid starting with 4 cards on the bottom layer, 3 cards on the next, 2 cards, then 1 card on the top.

Once you’re ready to start your game, choose who will be the dealer first. The dealer will start the game by turning over the leftmost card on the lowest layer of the pyramid.

Both players can then place cards on the table that have the same suit/value as the revealed card. Whoever places their card first, can say “Fuck You, Player X” and whoever fails to place their card will have to take a sip from their drink.

The cards in each pyramid layer have a corresponding number of drinks to them:

• For the cards at the bottom layer, players will have to take a sip from their cup only once.
• For the cards at the third layer, players will have to take a sip from their cup twice.
• For the cards at the second layer, players will have to take a sip from their cup three times.
• For the topmost single card, the player will have to sip 4 times from their cup. (This is basically like drinking the entire glass!)

3. Strip Poker

One of the spicier card games for couples is Strip Poker. When you play Strip Poker, you don’t lose money, you lose your clothes instead! This game is perfect for couples who want to spice things up a bit!

How to Play Strip Poker

The rules for Strip Poker are quite similar to the rules in a regular Poker game. You will also need a standard deck of 52 cards. One thing that’s different is that you should try to wear as much clothing as you can!

There are different versions of playing poker, which means there are also different ways to play Strip Poker. Popular poker styles are the 5 Card Draw, Stud, or Hold’em Texas.

Here are the poker-hand rankings from strong to weakest.

1. Royal Flush (straight flush with an ace)

Example: 10-J-Q-K-A (all cards are the same suit)

2. Straight Flush (5 cards of the same suit in ascending order)

Example: Heart 3 - Heart 4 - Heart 5 - Heart 6 - Heart 7

3. 4-of-a-kind (4 cards of the same value and one different card)

Example: 5-7-7-7-7

4. Full House (3 cards of the same value and a pair)

Example: 10-10-10-J-J

5. Flush (5 cards of the same suit, e.g. hearts)

Example: Heart 4 - Heart 6 - Heart J - Heart 10

6. Straight (5 cards in ascending order)

Example: 7-8-9-10-J

7. 3-of-a-kind (3 cards of the same value and 2 different cards that are not a pair)

Example: 6-9-10-10-10

8. 2 Pairs (2 pairs, 1 card of your choice)

Example: 7-8-8-4-4

9. Pair (3 different cards, and 2 cards with the same value)

Example: 2-K-8-4-4

10. High Card (a card of high value)

Ranking for the best individual cards will be Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.

Only the one with the weakest hand will have to remove the piece of clothing that they wagered for the bet.

How to Play UNO as a Drinking Game

You and your partner receive 7 cards each. The remaining cards are placed in the middle as a stack.

One of you begins the game by laying down one of the cards that you have. The other player must then lay down a suitable card (same color, same number, or action card). If they don’t have a suitable card from their hand, they must draw a card from the stack in the middle.

The aim of the game is to get rid of your cards as soon as possible. Whoever has one card left in their hand must shout “UNO”!

When playing UNO as a drinking game, every action card will represent a drinking rule. Better play your cards quickly so that you don’t get wasted by the end of the game!

Rules of UNO as a Drinking Game

• Draw Two card = 2 sips
• Wild Draw Four card = 4 sips

6. Higher or Lower

Still searching for the best games for couples? Higher or Lower is a quite popular game that should go to the top of your must-try list. How lucky are you at making guesses? You’ll need a lot of luck because Higher or Lower mainly relies on players’ ability to make the right guess.

When playing Higher or Lower with your partner, one of you will be dealt a card first. Once a player receives the first card, he/she needs to guess if the next card will be higher or lower than the first card that they received.

There’s no way of knowing what card you’ll get, especially at the start, so this game is a great way to test your luck!

You and your partner will be competing to get the most number of correct guesses in a row. If a player makes a wrong guess, he/she loses the game.

How to Play Higher or Lower

To start the game, you have to be dealt a card first. You will then guess whether the next card that you picked will be higher or lower than the first card that you got.

If you make a:

Wrong Guess = Your opponent drinks once.

Correct Guess = You get to make another guess for the next card.

Once you have guessed three consecutive cards correctly, you may continue guessing with the succeeding cards or you can say that you’ll take a pass. If you pass on a turn, your opponent can start where you left off.

Every time you make a wrong guess, you drink for each card showing. If you want to win, your strategy should be to guess correctly as many cards as possible before your partner plays their turn!

7. Blackjack

Blackjack is famously known as a casino game. Instead of betting with money, you can bet on how much alcohol you and your partner will have to drink. The player who gets cards closest to 21 wins the game. Make sure to have your beer or tequila nearby once you and your partner start playing!

How to Play Blackjack

First, you both get two cards, which you place face down in front of you. One of you begins the game by revealing your cards.

If the first player’s two cards total 21 points, he/she has a Blackjack. The other player has to drink.

If the player’s two cards are less than 21 points, he/she can draw an additional card from the stack. If he then has more than 21 points, the other player must drink.

The second player takes his/her turn and flips over the cards and does the same as the first player.

The goal of the game is to reach 21 points or to get as close to 21 points as possible.

Here’s how to count the cards:

• Ace: 1 or 11 points
• Jack, Queen, King: 10 points
• Remaining Cards: number of points = number on the card (Ex. Card 3 = 3 points)

At the end of the draw, the cards are compared by both players. The loser is the one who has a total that is the farthest from the number 21 and will have to drink as punishment.

For example:

Player 1: 19 points (winner)

Player 2: 18 points (loser)

8. Slapjack

If Blackjack is known to be a card game for adults since it is also a popular casino game, Slapjack is a card game that even children can play! That is if you’re playing the regular non-drinking version!

Slapjack, also known as Slaps, is a card-based game that’s all about speed and accuracy. One thing you need to keep in mind when playing Slapjack with your special someone is that both of you will be racing against each other to “slap” the Jack card when it appears.

If you or your partner makes a mistake and “slaps’’ at any card in the center that is not a Jack, the one who didn’t make a mistake can give one card, face down, to the player who made the mistake.

If you’re playing Slapjack as a drinking game, the more alcohol you drink, the more difficult and fun your game gets!

How to Set Up Slapjack

You need a standard 52-card deck with all the Jokers removed before you start. All cards must be divided between you and your opponent, and your pile of cards should each be in front of you both.

The first player turns over the top card of their stack and places it in the middle. If it is not a Jack card, the second player turns over the top card of their stack and places it also in the middle. You both keep doing this until a Jack card appears.

When a Jack card turns up, both of you must “slap” or hit the card as soon as possible. The player who was faster gets all the cards that have been played so far. The one who was too slow has to drink. If someone incorrectly hits a card that is not a Jack, that person must also drink.

The game continues until one has managed to get all the cards. The loser who runs out of cards has to drink a shot of tequila or drink a mug of beer bottoms up!
