2. Hasbro Clue Game

Available on
  • Player count: 2-6 players
  • Duration: 40 minutes or more
  • Ages: for ages 8 and up

Clue is one of the best-selling Hasbro board games. It’s a board game classic that has made playing murder mystery games so entertaining.

The Hasbro Clue game’s objective is to find out three things: who was the killer, what was the weapon, and where did the murder take place. The gameplay may seem simple, but you’ll realize that figuring out the answers makes for a more complex game!

How to play Hasbro Clue Game

Start the game by setting the gameboard and the pawn pieces on their locations. The dealer will then randomly take out 1 room card, 1 weapon card, and 1 suspect card–this will be the case file.

The remaining cards will be shuffled together and dealt to all game players. All players get to pick a character they want to play. Players will roll the dice and move around the board as that character.

Each time a player gets to a room, that player can guess the killer, weapon, and location of the murder. If the player on their left has any of those cards mentioned, they will show their card to that player. The game will continue with all players moving around the board and narrowing down all the possibilities.

If a player is confident about their guess, they can open the case file. If they guess it wrong, they will be out of the game, but if they guess correctly they win the game!
