1. Everyone draws a card

Each player draws one card on the phone using an imposter game online tool or imposter game word generator.

  • All normal players receive the same secret word
  • One random player becomes the Imposter and receives no word

After viewing their role, players are instructed to pass the phone to the next person.

2. The timer starts

Once everyone has drawn, a countdown timer begins. From this point on, no one can check the word again—memory and bluffing only.

3. Take turns saying one word

Going around the group, each player says exactly one word related to the secret word.

  • Normal players try to sound convincing without being obvious
  • The Imposter tries to guess the vibe and blend in

No sentences. No explanations. One word only.

4. Discuss and accuse

Before time runs out, players can:

  • Question suspicious answers
  • Ask players to repeat with another word

5. The game ends when…

The Imposter Game ends when one of the following happens:

  • The Imposter correctly guesses the secret word
  • The group agrees on who the Imposter is
  • The timer runs out

Then you reshuffle and start again.
