Best Overall: World of Disney Eye Found It Board Game

Available on
  • Player count: 1-6 players
  • Duration: 15-20 minutes
  • Ages: 4+

The World of Disney Eye Found It is a fantastic cooperative board game for the whole family. In this game, players work together to find hidden objects on a giant game board. All players win when you get to the finish line before time runs out!

Why we love it

Our top pick is the World of Disney Eye Found It because it’s a fast-paced, easy-to-learn game for everyone to enjoy. We love that even though it’s designed for children ages four and up, it can be enjoyed by teens and adults too.

We recommend this for your next family game night because it also has educational value. The game helps children practice their observational skills, memory, and focus. Additionally, World of Disney Eye Found It promotes teamwork and communication as you all work and win together.

You can find all the Disney characters you love on the well-designed and sturdy game board, including Mickey Mouse, Buzz Lightyear, Alice, Tinker Bell, and many more. One possible downside is that the game board is nearly 6 feet (180 cm) long, so make sure you have enough space to play.

We love that you must work together to win because even the youngest players feel like they’re contributing. The game is perfect for family gatherings or game nights with friends!

How to play

Start the World of Disney Eye Found It by picking your character mover, shuffling the mystery cards, and placing them next to your game board. Then set the clock at 1 o’clock. All players must get to Cinderella’s castle before the clock strikes midnight to win the game.

The youngest player starts the game by spinning the spinner. Depending on which number they get, they move that many spaces. If they get the clocktower, they move and then have the opportunity to spin again. But if they get one of the mickey mouse symbols, they draw a mystery card and read the red side of the card. The player also draws a card if they land on a space with a mickey mouse symbol. In this case, they can choose between the red and blue sides of their card.

Each card has a red and a blue side. Both contain a symbol and word, such as the word “Cats” and above is an illustration of a cat. The player starts the timer as soon as everyone has seen the word and the illustration. Now everyone works together to find as many items on the board connected to the symbol/word as possible. Put a mouse-ear marker on every found item.

Depending on how many you got, all of you move forward. For example, if you find three related items, all of you move three spaces. Don’t worry; you get to be creative here!

The game ends when everyone has made it to Cinderella’s castle or time runs out!

Best Strategy: Disney Villainous Strategy

Available on
  • Player count: 2-6 players
  • Duration: 50 minutes or more
  • Ages: 10+

Disney Villainous Strategy lets you become a powerful Disney villain, at least for one day! You’ll have to use your cunning and evil genius to be the first to achieve your diabolical goal. The game comes with six different villains, each with its unique deck of cards and game board.

Why we love it

We love Disney Villainous Strategy because it’s a unique and fun twist on the classic board game formula. The implementation of the theme into the gameplay is excellent. You must get into the spirit of being one of these evil characters to win. If you pick Captain Hook, you must find and defeat Peter Pan. Are you more of a Maleficent? Then get ready to curse the land and fight against the fairies!

There is an excellent level of replayability because each character plays so differently. You can choose between Captain Hook, Maleficent, Jafar, Ursula, Queen of Hearts, and Prince John in the main game. If you want even more options, there are three expansion packs with additional villains, such as Cruella De Vil, Scar, or the Evil Queen.

Another positive aspect is that the game scales well. Playing Disney Villainous Strategy with two people is just as fun as playing with a maximum of six.

However, the rules and the gameplay can be confusing at first. Make sure to read the rulebook thoroughly before you start playing. It’s also worth mentioning that this game is not for everyone; if you’re not into strategic board games or Disney villains, you might want to give this one a pass!

How to play

Each player chooses a villain to set up the game and takes that character’s deck of cards, game board, mover, villain guide, and reference card. On some game boards, there’s a lock symbol on the right-most location; if so, that player must take a lock token and put it there. Place all power tokens in the middle of the board within reach of all players.

Each player draws four cards, and then you decide who goes first. Depending on the order, each player gets power tokens: The first player gets zero, the second player one, the third and fourth player two, and the fifth and sixth player gets three power tokens. Now you’re ready to start playing!

The game is played over a series of rounds, and each round contains three steps:

  1. Step 1: Move your villain to a different location on your individual board. You can move to any place on the board but can’t stay in the same space twice a row.
  2. Step 2: Choose actions depending on the symbols on your location, such as playing a card, gaining power tokens, or moving an ally or an item.
  3. Step 3: You draw back up to four cards.

To win the game, you need to achieve your character’s evil schemes before anyone else does to win the game.

Best Classic: Monopoly Pixar Edition

Available on
  • Player count: 2-6 players
  • Duration: 45 minutes or more
  • Ages: for ages 8 and up

Monopoly Pixar Edition takes the classic game and gives it a Pixar-themed twist! All your favorite Pixar characters are here, from Toy Story to Finding Nemo to Cars.

Why we love it

What we love is that this game is still Monopoly, so it’s easy to learn and play, but the Pixar theme makes it feel fresh and new! Playing this game, you’ll see all your favorite characters and places represented. It’s a great way to relive all your favorite Pixar moments!

This Monopoly edition is a great way to teach kids the concept of money. The game’s colorful and engaging design makes it an excellent choice for families. However, some design aspects could have been executed better; for instance, there’s no place to store the money, and the character pieces are too large for the board.

But if you’re looking for a classic game with a fun Pixar twist that keeps the whole family entertained for hours, this is the game for you!

Best Mystery: Clue Disney Villains Edition

Available on
  • Player count: 2-6 players
  • Duration: 60 minutes or more
  • Ages: for ages 10 and up

Which Disney villain stole the magic? This game is for you if you’re up for playing detective and are a big Disney fan.

Why we love it

We love the mystery and suspense that this game offers. You play the original Clue game mechanics on a beautifully illustrated Disney-inspired game board with your favorite evil characters, such as Gaston, Ursula, Mother Gothel, or Jafar.

The game has excellent replay value because the mystery is different every time you play! We also love that this game can accommodate up to six players, making it great for family game nights.

Clue Disney Villains Edition didn’t make it to the top of our list because it lacks originality; it’s simply Clue with a Disney Villains twist. But if you’re looking for a mystery game that the whole family can enjoy, this one is sure to please.

We also have to note that we disagree with the age recommendation on the box because we think this game is more appropriate for ages 10 and up. Firstly, the gameplay can be challenging and may be confusing for younger children. Secondly, the chosen font on the sheets makes it difficult to read.

Overall, we think this is a fantastic game for anyone who loves mystery, Disney, or both! The game board and pieces are top quality, the artwork and graphics are lovely, and it’s just a lot of fun to play.
