How to enter cheat codes in Red Dead Redemption 2
Entering cheats in Red Dead Redemption 2 is a little hidden. But once you know it, it’s pretty easy and straight forward.
To enter cheats, go to the pause menu of the game and access the settings. In the bottom right of the screen should be a cheat prompt to go to the cheats sections. On PS4 / PS5, you can press Triangle and Y on Xbox.
When you enter the screen, you should see a long list of locked cheats. To unlock all cheats, enter the cheat codes from below. Once you unlock a cheat, you don’t have to enter it again and can quickly access it on this screen.
Warning notice when using cheats in Red Dead Redemption 2
When you enable cheats, you won’t be able to progress further in the game and won’t be able to unlock Achievements or Trophies for that playthrough duration. But don’t worry, the game won’t let you save your progress. So cheats in RDR2 are just for fun to mess around.

How to unlock cheats with newspapers in Red Dead Redemption 2
Some cheats in RDR2 require you to buy newspapers and have already progressed to a particular chapter in the story. So when you try to enter those locked cheats before, the game will give you an error message saying that you don’t meet the prerequisites to unlocking this cheat.

There are 3 types of different newspapers in RDR2. New newspapers are released throughout the story.
The best places to purchase newspapers in RDR2:

- Strawberry (Blackwater Ledger)
- Rhodes (Saint Denis Times)
Sometimes you can’t buy a newspaper. If you happen to run into this problem, just come back later and try again. And don’t worry if this happens, you can always buy old newspapers.
